Character: Curley’s wife
Quote: Think I’m gonna stay in that two-by-fourr house and listen how Curley’s gonna lead with his left twice, and then bring in the ol’right cross?
What it means: Curley’s wife is very lonely (as are some other characters) and she is also trapped in a loveless marriage.
This quote also prostrates an image of her how she is lonely and seeking attention, she seeks attention by trying to flirt with the men on the ranch. And because she keeps trying to get attention from the men on the ranch (because she doesn’t get the attention she wants at home ) they call her a ‘tart’.
!!!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!
Her lust for attention lead to her downfall in the end. She tried to get some attention from Lenie but she didn’t take into account that he’s so ‘simple’ and that he like to touch certain things that feel good, she also didn’t know that Lenie can get confused and freeze very easily.

I’m looking forward to seeing your plan of action for this assessment – This exploration of the character of Curley’s wife makes some good points, but the important thing now is to focus on the question (which can be found in the official information here: http://waugh10.www.edutronic.net/category/controlled-assessments/of-mice-and-men/) and develop a detailed list of the points you plan to make to answer it.
I’ll comment on that once you complete it.
